There is a bit more explaining the Thomas Zane-Alan Wake connection in the book than I remember being in the game. The book itself is a great tour on memory lane, the story is embellished with the descriptions, even with a bit more dark comedy and some ridicule parts, mostly from the part of Barry, the comic relief; but in general it left a few things clearer.

Over all, I read through this entire book in less than two days.

Wake’s journey will lead him to the sake edge of madness, and deep within the dark woods, he will come face-to-face with a story he has no recollection of ever writing. A mysterious evil entity known as “the Dark Presence” lives deep beneath the surface of Cauldron Lake. If you can see some of the imprecise logical gymnastics in there, you’re not alone.
